Coming from Street in Somerset Clarks, this unsuspecting slipper maker were about to become one of the biggest shoe brands in the world. Starting in 1825 with a few village workers the company rapidly grew with the demand of comfort shoes, opening many factories around street and essentially taking over the village. Today the old factories are the home of Clarks Village. With styles like the Wallabee, Desert Treck and Desert Boot everyone has a memory of at least one of these we are sure. Keeping things quintessentially British and with all the designing being done in Britain, Clarks are the kings of keeping to the book when it comes to recreating footwear from the past, so much so that we even sell a book about it by DJ Al Fingers 'Clarks In Jamaica'.
