Danner

In 1936, Charles Danner transplanted his family and fledgling footwear company from the logging town of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin to Portland, Oregon in the Pacific Northwest after noticing a demand for the type of domestically made, affordable logging boots that he was in the business of manufacturing. Since then, Danner boots have been found on the feet of the shipyard workers of world war II, the hikers and outdoorsmen/women of the postwar years, hunters, servicepeople and even the elite marines of Iraq and Afghanistan. Throughout the lengthy period between its inception and present day, Danner have shown a willingness to adapt their approach to meet the intensive needs of their varied customer base, constantly introducing new styles and production methods (they were one of the first footwear companies to utilise the revolutionary gore-tex fabric during the 1970s) without sacrificing any of the quality and craftsmanship associated with the brand.
